He's not a top 200 guy.

JMHO.

that could be, but I don't see that any of the college players the Pirates selected above him should get more than slot. That leaves Jared Jones and he is slotted for 1.6 million which should be enough to get him.  At this point I'm at a loss that the Bucs have picked 4 rhp even though the team needs pitching.  None of these guys have pitched many innings.  Maybe that is what the Bucs like about them, strong arms without a lot of wear and tear on them.

Also that BC and company looked at Pirates minor league pitching and decided it sucked.

So after 3 solid rounds, the Pirates go cheap and pick 2 pitchers not even in the top 200 prospects. Good grief you can’t even build through the draft. Should not have to worry about signability in the first 5 rounds

Jared Jones 6'1"

Logan Hoffman 5'10"

Two obvious NH no-nos. No pitchers under 6'3" in his drafts :)

The Pirates sure focused on players that had done well in the Cape Cod league last summer.

Most experts I've seen have given the Pirates very high marks for this draft.

Yeah, he wanted all those guys who could throw downhill. Too bad all the hitters hit their pitches down the hill that was beyond the fence.

This is very inside info but for what it's worth ... Bozo the clown made out last two picks.

I have read and heard the Bucs may regret not selecting the Hendrick kid from West Allegheny HS, but I don’t think the selection of Gonzalez will disappoint the fan base. I think they selected a very good player, and they might have been surprised he was there when they picked #7.

I gotta say that when I read docs last three posts, I at first thought it was Shedman.
