Alika Williams Recalled

Jason Mackey is reporting that the Pirates are recalling Alika Williams to replace Marcano after last night's unfortunate injury.

He is not on the 40 man roster so someone will need to be eliminated.

Seeing as it is now nearly August, and Jalin Garcia is not even anywhere close to a rehab assignment, perhaps it is time to simply remove him from the roster and pay him the remainder of his contract.

I didn't see it, but from the sounds of it could it be Marcano to the 60 day?

That would be my guess. It looked like a serious injury.

I'm glad they didn't bring Castro back. He's not going to help now or ever.

I bet they would like to trade him, because he is a possible roster casualty this offseason when they have to add certain minor league players to the 40 man roster.

I bet they would like to trade him, because he is a possible roster casualty this offseason when they have to add certain minor league players to the 40 man roster.

I feel fairly certain BC would jump at sending Castro away. He’s seen enough of him to know he’s not going to help the team win now or anytime in the future.
