Geez Louise! Newman is not playing! One of the hottest hitters in MLB especially on the road is being replace by a no stick and glove guy!
Seems like just a couple days ago people were calling for Frazier to be replaced by Tucker, and moving Newman to second even if he only hit .240. People need to make their mind up. Do you want a decent hitting ss with an average glove or a shitty hitting ss with a good glove. Keep frazier and trade tucker. We know what we have with frazier
On the other hand, we know what we have in Frazier--a .270ish hitter who will hit about 10 HRs and is adequate if not exceptional in both INF and OF. We don't know what we have in Tucker. But if they trade former 1st rd pick Tucker based on a SSS (remember, they traded for Gonzalez to replace former 1st rd pick Newman based on Newman's SSS last year) they might regret it. I suggest having Newman, Tucker and Frazier all on the team next year. If Tucker wins a starting job in ST, Frazier could return to his J-Hay type super sub role at which he is very good. Otherwise, Tucker could be on the bench and still get plenty of work at SS with Newman playing some 2B and Frazier either resting (you know how the Pirates obsess over rest) or filling in at RF occasionally for the always disappointing and/or hurt Polanco.

Your suggestion does not sound unreasonable to me. I like the JHay comparison for Frazier. And from the SSS I like the hustle and enthusiasm that Tucker brings. His upside is just too good to trade him now.
