Kendrys Morales Designated for Assignment Today

I would take a flier on him, like we did with Melky. He would strengthen the bench even more; a very professional hitter.



Switching leagues might do him well.

He would strictly be a bench guy at this point, bat off the bench.

He only plays 1B. He's 36 and he's hitting .204. Right now Moran is a better option at 1B on days Bell doesn't play. I don't think they have the luxury of carrying a bench player who only PHs and doesn't play in the field. That would be an issue even if Morales was hitting well. But he's not hitting at all. I can't see them adding him.

Because of lack of potential playing time I don't think he would sign with the Pirates unless absolutely no one else wanted him.
