The Bucs have a record of 6-9 in the first 15 games without Marte. Sixty five more games remain without Marte in the lineup.

Now 22 games without Marte and the Bucs are 8-14. The losses are beginning to pile up. We are just passed the quarter amount of games that he will miss and if they continue to play like this the Bucs will have well over 50 losses when Marte returns. We could reach the 90 loss range this season.

Does anyone know if Marte can play in minor league games before his suspension is up? I assume not, otherwise he probably would be playing in them now. So, figure that he'll be in the minors tuning his swing for a week or so more after the suspension ends. He'll end up being lost for more like 90 games before he's back in CF for the Bucs.

I thought I heard that Marte can begin playing minor league games on a rehab assignment either ten days or two weeks prior to the end of his suspension. Possibly around July 6th or so he could play for the Curve or Indy.

It is going to be really tough to be around .500 come July. If only two bats would pick it up. One could make a difference too.

I guess you give them a few weeks. But if that's the case, why not start making some initial trade talks now? Set the selling market.

We have now played 30 games without Marte and the Bucs record is 13-17. On a positive note only 4 games below .500 when this could have been a total collapse.

I've been surprised they've done as well as they have, with all the distractions. Cole has pitched better than I expected, and I really thought Nova would revert to some pre-Pirate prior form, but he has pitched well also. Contributions have come from unexpected places.

I feel there are no surprises this year and why their record is so bad. Imagine if two hitters showed up?
