I hope he catches on somewhere. He's done all for us that you could expect

I too hope he catches on somewhere. He does not possess a ton a talent, but he gives the team 100%. He runs well, he is a good defensive player, but he is not a very good hitter.

He’s a pretty good pitcher!

It's easy to root for a guy like Shuck. He'll be 32 in June and he's just trying to hang on to a baseball career. Had it not been for all the injuries, he most likely would not have gotten out of AAA this year. He had 1 season as a starting OFer (2013 with the Angels) and batted .293 but hit only 2 HRs (25% of his career 8 HRs). For the rest of his career, he's batted .214 for a career BA of .243. He's got a good eye and draws a lot of walks. He's fast and a good defensive player. His ceiling seems to be that of a 5th OFer. He's the type you hope won't have to be used very much but on occasion he can get a PH or make a good play in the OF. He's never made much more than the MLB minimum but he keeps plugging away. If he clears waivers, I suspect he'll go to Indy as OF insurance. If there's a team hurting for OFers, maybe they'll put in a waiver claim for him.

Shuck is the starting pitcher for Indy tonight. Who knows maybe they will bring him back in September to work out of the bullpen.

Shuck ran into some trouble in the second inning, but he struck out the next three hitters. Two innings, and no runs allowed.

Speaking of position players pitching, last night in a 16 inning game, Orioles utility INF-OF Steve Wilkerson became the first position player in major league history to earn a save. The Orioles had used their entire BP and Wilkerson pitched a perfect 16th inning throwing 56 mph. He retired Albert Pujols on a soft fly ball to CF to end the game.
