The Pirates are dealing with an incompetent manager. He's always been this way. If they want to become serious contenders, they're going to have to move on from him.

Shelton makes bad moves for sure. :(

We left some winnable games on the table recently. They did get me excited and hopeful this season but I'm 99.9% sure the party is over. We won't make playoffs but I do hope to at least break even.

Did any of you guys have any confidence in cruz in the 9th? I felt he had no chance.

I was fine with him there. Especially when the ump missed a strike on the 2nd pitch and made it a 2-0 count instead of 1-1. When it went to 3-0, I thought he would have the green light if he got a fat pitch to at least try for a fly ball to tie it. But he took the 3-0 pitch right down the middle. That was the best pitch he saw in that AB. He tried on the 3-1 pitch, but it was on the outer part of the plate and he fouled it off. Then with the count at 3-2, he fouled off 5 straight pitches protecting the plate. Finally, on the 11th pitch, he swung thru it. All in all, I thought it was a good AB. But the perfect pitch was the 3-0 delivery down the middle that he took.

I honestly thought he was going to come through. He's been pretty clutch.
