It's funny, I was just thinking the same thing. It's not time to trade Hayes or anything, but he's becoming a valuable piece with the bat.

I'm about one more shellacking away from walking away for the year. Against all odds, this team is in playoff contention as of Memorial Day, and they don't even seem to be trying to fill two glaring holes in the rotation.

So what on earth is the rotation now? There seem to be three starters on the active roster. Is Kingham starting? Brault? Liriano? Searage???

I can't see them throwing in the towel on him already, given how well the pieces we traded for him are doing. I know sunk cost isn't an objective reason to not do a trade, but it might apply here.
