Re: Paul Skenes watch

He had another good inning of work last night in Bradenton, striking out two and having the third out come by way of a caught stealing. He did surrender his first hit, a clean single to center. Just like in his first outing, he threw mostly strikes, but he did add in a few more breaking balls. Sound...

Re: Priester to Indy

Thought we had a pretty good discussion on yesterdays game day thread, but it's a moot point now. Hope he works out his issues in Indy and gets back up before the end of the year. He's been counted on to become a key member of the rotation. So he must have a lot more ability than what he showed in ...

Re: Official Game Thread - 8/15 - Bucs @ Mets

As is the case so often in situations like this, Buck Showalter may well pay for the performance of his high-priced players by losing his job, even before season's end. The question is, would you want BC to dismiss Shelton at the end of the year and hire Showalter to replace him?

The Bucs bats are about normal tonight. That’s not good news.

Re: Official Game Thread - 8/15 - Bucs @ Mets

This Peterson guy could pitch for the Pirates. With no outs in the third, he’s walked five and has thrown over 56 pitches, only half of them for strikes.

Re: On Going Updates to the site

IDK if it looks like this for everyone. But before, the threads were listed in order of the most recent post. The GDT keeps showing a number of topics down the list on my device, in spite of that being the thread that was most recently active. I agree, Surge. It was easy in the past to keep track o...

Just a comment about the Homestead Grays uniforms the Pirates wore yesterday: I really like them. They're very classic looking, very simple and understated. The blue color against the white shirt is really sharp.

Re: The Other Games

Braves drop 21 on the hapless Mets and their 373 Million $ payroll 21-3 f Maybe they should field the 214 million dollar payroll team, 14th largest in MLB, being paid to players no longer on the team This is the very reason Bob Nutting will never spend money on a high-priced free agent, let alone a...

Re: Official Minor League Thread

I just scanned an article on the MLB website that reassesses the Pirates top 30 prospects. It didn’t list all 30 guys but there was no mention at all of Nick Gonzales. I found that interesting and surprising.
