Re: Post Season Thread
Phillies/D'Backs - I'll take the Phillies in 6. Like Doc said, they are on a mission. While the D'Backs are young and exciting, the fact that they are young will be the deciding factor in my mind. Rangers/Astros - As much as I would like to see the Rangers take it, I'm hesitant to pick them because ...

Re: Post Season Thread
Texas moves into the ALCS with a three game sweep of Baltimore and now awaits the winner of the Houston/Minnesota series. Disappointing end to a great season for the O's. They were fun to watch. I thought their pitching edge over the Rangers would help them, but it crashed and burned along with the...

Re: Post Season Thread
Phillies/Braves - I'll be the outlier here. I think the Phils are on a mission. Starting pitching concerns abound for each team in this series, but I'm going out on a shaky limb and taking the Phillies. D'Backs/Dodgers - Oh, how I would like to see the Dodgers get bumped off here, but I just doubt i...

Blue Jays over Twins (pulling for Minny, but they just don't win in the post-season) Rangers over Rays (pulling for Texas, but both teams starting pitching staffs are shredded so anything is possible D'Backs over Brewers (I don't get how the Brew Crew stayed in this the whole year, plus I can't stan...

Re: Rules Question
Yes, he was forced to run to third base and touch it. If the defending team threw the ball to third and touched the base, he would’ve been ruled out because the force play rule is in effect, even with the apparent winning run scoring. The game would’ve then moved to the 10th inning. If there were n...

Re: The Departed
Rodolfo Castro is tearing it up for the Phillies. With his 0 for 2 last night against the Angels, he has now had a whopping 4 at bats since August 18th. Evene though bailey Falter hasn't done as well as I would have hoped, it still is a clear advantage for the Bucs on that trade.

Re: Priester to Indy
Thought we had a pretty good discussion on yesterdays game day thread, but it's a moot point now.
Hope he works out his issues in Indy and gets back up before the end of the year.

Re: Official Game Thread - 8/14 - Bucs @ Mets
I liked your different spin on Priester and the pitchers we had Cole, Musgrove etc. The only difference is that they all went to much better teams who score a lot of runs and didn't have to be perfect every time they went out There's a lot of truth to what you are saying, but the fact is, despite t...

Re: Official Game Thread - 8/14 - Bucs @ Mets
Back to Priester, I think that Capp made an interesting point last night. He said there is only about 4 mph difference between Priester's fast ball and his other pitches. That makes it easier on opposing batters. Didn't the Pirate brass know this? Did they think that one day Priester would suddenly...

Re: Orioles suspend PBP announcer for...well...just because.
The kicker was, the PR staff made up the presentation complete with a chart showing how well they did this year as opposed to the other years. Why didn't the whole production team get suspended? The primary owner, John Angelos, dictated the suspension. What a horse's patoot he is. The Orioles organi...
