Im no expert in sabremetrics or whatever they use these days, but what would measure the benefits of having a player like Chris Carter? Does he do more damage striking out 200+ times or hitting 50 bombs?

IAMBucFan....you sound the way I feel sometimes. Im sure there are many others that get frustrated. I will never quit watching the Pirates, mainly because I love baseball and they're my hometown team. But I will never understand why this FO was extended.

Jose Reyes has a 22m club option in 2018, I doubt they pick that up with a 4m buyout....seems like an older guy they might "settle" on, he can play 3B.
