3 Changes The Bucs Should Make

Prior to the upcoming road trip the Pirates should make the 3 changes:
Send down Williams and recall either Peguero or Gonzales
Send down Ryan and recall Mlodzinski
finally due to his struggles I would send Davis to Indy and bring up Grandal

I like Davis and I think he will be a good hitter, but currently he appears lost at the plate. Possibly he has concentrated so much on defense at catcher that his hitting has been effected. There is no way I give up on his bat, but he has to find the grove.

I get what you're saying but WIlliams has been pretty good.

You are correct that he has been pretty good but I feel that he doesn't
fit in their long term plans

Yeah I agree with that, for now I'd leave it though.

I think they're all just keeping the seat warm for Termarr Johnson really long term anyhow.

Suwinski can go, seen enough. Hoping he runs into a HR is old.

Suwinski is frustrating to say the least. Before I would move him, I would like to see how he hits with a new batting coach. The Pirates definitely have to shake something up due to these past couple weeks of games. They are not fun to watch at all.

The Pirates are 3-3 on this 9 game home stand so far, and their offense is just okay. Prior to Fridays game I would send Williams to AAA, and cut Taylor. Williams may be hitting.260 or so , but it is a light .260. Taylor in my opinion strikes out too often. Let’s give Gonzales and Bae another chance at the Big Leagues. Maybe they could spark the offense.

I hear ya but they're paying Taylor 4 million and they didn't expect him to hit. He has always been a good defensive OFer who doesn't hit well and strikes out a lot. And that's exactly what he's doing. For a poor hitting team in 2023, I think it was a very stupid move to sign a player known to be a poor hitter (as was Tellez). It was idiotic but they're getting exactly what they're paying for. So I can't see them cutting him. I think we're stuck with him until the TDL when some good hitting contender wants the luxury of a good field/no hit OFer for late inning defense.

Any idea on how Termarr Johnson is doing?

Don't ask. :(
He's currently batting .181 in high-A.
