I can relax again. Always tense for me when a Pittsburgh team plays a Philly team. Proud of the BUCS! That split was all I wanted.

BEAT EM BUCS!!!!!!

Way way to early for this but this Pirate team reminds me of the Phillies when they had a great year with John Kruk and Darren Daulton on the team. Memory shaky but I think it was the year our beloved BUCS went under .500 for a long time. 93-94? If I recall they were not expected to make Playoffs. A lot of older Phillie fans will tell you that was their favorite team even without the World Series.

We shall see.

Cruz starts the game with a three pitch strikeout, the third one looking. This is getting to be ridiculous with him.

In spite of his first inning double, Francisco Lindor came into tonight’s game batting a robust .129 so far. Is he one of the most overrated players in baseball? I wonder if the Mets would like to have a do-over on signing him?

Our leadoff batter has the 2nd worst OBP on the team, ahead of only Suwinski. He also has the 2nd most errors at SS in MLB. He is miscast as a leadoff batter and a SS. Bat him in the middle of the order.

I've never understood honoring Jackie Robinson by confusing fans and announcers by removing names from the uniforms and giving everyone the same number. A nice "42" patch on the sleeve would be more practical.

I wonder if they’re leading him off so as to get him the most at bats as possible. It might be a good idea for a high batting average or high on base percentage kind of player, but not for him. He’s far too undisciplined at this point. The team has shown it can compete so winning should be the priority, not helping one player get caught up after last year’s injury.

A Cruz walk and a Reynolds single put two on with one out in the 3rd.
