Winning is fun! You could see the relief on the players' faces yesterday.
5th Star: Geoff Hartlieb pitched us out of a jam in the 6th and added a scoreless 7th. Not unlike Jared Hughes, I've though of Hartlieb as a one-trick pony. But he has improved this year!
4th Star: Clint Moran continues to hit better than his teammates, though that is damning with faint praise. Nice 3-for-4 outing, and a key hit in the decisive 4th.
3rd Star: Cole Porter's play in RF looked MLB normal, and the 3-for-4 included two singles that plated Reynolds in the 4th and 8th.
2nd Star: Chad Kuhl pitched 5 solid innings, yielding a single run while picking up his first win. He'd get #1 billing except for ...
1st Star: Bryan Reynolds scored our first run and our last, falling a double short of the cycle. He knocked in 4 runs in what so many of us hope is a sign that the sophomore slump is over! Doubt that I'll get much argument with this call. ;D
