1. Andrew McCutchen CF 2. Jose Tabata LF 3. Neil Walker 2B 4. Garrett Jones 1B 5. Pedro Alvarez 3B 6. Ryan Doumit C 7. John Bowker RF 8. Ronny Cedeno SS 9. Zach Duke LHP
Nyjer Morgan is in the lineup leading off for the Nats. I guess that means he's appealing both suspensions.

I wonder if Nyjer will feel compelled to fight both Duke and Doumit?

And Doumit isn't accurate enough to hit him.

It appears Nats' manager Jim Riggelman will be sitting out two games of this series after being suspended by MLB. I propose, in the interest of sportsmanship, that Russell not attend two games as well.

How will we know? We'll know when Neil Walker doesn't try to bunt with two on and no out.

I'd love to know why they didnt fly Morgan in on his offday to NY and have his meetings and get his suspensions started. How many suspensions do you need before they decide you should start serving at least one of them. Honestly when you get suspended once and then again before you even get a chance to appeal shouldn't you lose that right to appeal? Its just stupid that he's allowed to play today and it sounds like the 8 games he got today were for two different things(the elbow at the catcher too).
Morgan honestly thinks he did nothing wrong, his reaction after hearing about the suspension sounds like he wasnt even expecting a suspension for this...he has lost his mind. He needs counseling.
Harold Reynolds just put it great on MLB Network,he basically said Nyjer, youre 30 years old and not that good, you're easily replaced, dont give them a better reason to get rid of you sooner. Step back and take some time off

I guess Clement's loss will be Bowkers gain, as b-Thumple over at the Trib is reporting that Clement strained an oblique and will be out for the season. Would have been hard to find September AB's for both Bowker and Clement, so Bowker has to get at least a couple starts per week to see if he figures into next years plans.

Is this the same Harold Reynolds that thought the Pirates were absolutely crazy to trade Morgan. I remember him stating that opinion, while showing Morgan doing a three way chest butt with the other outfielders. How could we trade a guy that brings so much energy and love of the game for a malcontent like Milledge?

I always figured that Milledge would be the better player, but I never thought he would be the one with all of the hustle, hard work, and positive attitude. I'm glad it worked out that way.

Wow what a surprise, some idiot talking head on a TV network says one thing and then says the opposite shortly after? Wow, you don't say. Sorry, I just don't have the patience for the idiocy in the national media. The whole thing with Morgan has just always aggravated me. When he was Pirate, it was obvious that in the long term he wasn't going to be anything. It drove me through the roof that so many people acted like they traded an all star when they dumped him. And then, even people in the media bought into it! I won't deny that I get a little satisfaction out of seeing Morgan melt down, and it's nothing really personal with him. There were just so many people that seemed to think that he was something special that it just irked me. Trading him was one move the Pirates got right, even though Milledege didn't end up much better. They still at least took the chance on someone who had the potential to be better.
