Jesse Chavez is looking pretty good for the Braves, though. Didn't he have another HORRIBLE spring, too? He has struck out 6 over 4.1 innings with a 2.08 ERA and .92 WHIP.
I'd rather have Iwamura, but I wouldn't have minded giving up somebody not named Jesse Chavez in that trade. If that was possible.
The three times he has appeared it has been the epitome of low-leverage situations as well. I think they are either taking it slow with him after his bad spring, or they just don't consider him one of the important arms in the pen, which he may have ended up being if he was still in Pitt.
