It includes the well-compensated Media Titan's oh-so-predictable whine about his defeat.

I was thinking more about this whole controversy, and the one thing I haven't heard anyone comment on is the need for personal responsibility. Limbaugh, and conservatives in general, love to lecture other people on the need for personal responsibility but when is Rush going to man up and accept his own? He makes millions of dollars being a controversial radio host. That's actually understating things -- he actually thrives on controversy. It's what drives his high ratings and by extension "justifies" the multi-million dollar contract he got. Limbaugh's entitled to earn a living however he likes, but if he's going to earn his keep by saying things a majority of people find distasteful or abusive or even racist, he should accept the consequences of his actions. The NFL is notorious for wanting to avoid controversy, so it's no surprise they'd rather avoid the headaches that would ensue if Limbaugh were to buy the Rams. You reap what you sow.

Supposedly being a lose cannon or possibly causing controversy is why Mark Cuban can't buy a MLB team too.

Highest bidder isn't always enough as it is like joining a club in all the major sports.

"This is not about the NFL, it's not about the St. Louis Rams, it's not about me," Limbaugh said. "This is about the ongoing effort by the left in this country, wherever you find them, in the media, the Democrat Party, or wherever, to destroy conservatism, to prevent the mainstreaming of anyone who is prominent as a conservative.

"Therefore, this is about the future of the United States of America and what kind of country we're going to have."

it's not about him? it's all about him. i find it amazing that some on the right find obama to be egotistical and still root for this guy.

When gasbags find egotistical traits in someone they dislike you can bet they are looking in a mirror but are unaware of that fact. To want and run for the POTUS is sufficient for labeling someone vain. Compared to Limbaugh, though, Obama comes across as a beacon of humility and circumspection.

A classic:

Quote
Columnist Molly Ivins reported (Arizona Republic 10/17/93) this incident from Limbaugh's TV show--"Here is a Limbaugh joke: Everyone knows the Clintons have a cat. Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is a White House dog?" And he puts up a picture of Chelsea Clinton. Chelsea Clinton is 13 years old.

The quote can be found here: http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1895

It is no surprise that the NFL is running from controversy and Rush is stirring it up.  The NFL likes to present a pristine image in spite of facts.  Rush would have been a silent investor as far as the team goes.  I'm sure he would have made comments as a fan, but that is nothing new.  Rush's response is of course over the top and I fail to comprehend what he is talking about without further context.

Rush is playing the victim game. The evil liberals have kept him from getting something he wanted.

I did hear one thing that I can understand would make Rush say the things he has.  It appears that George Soros, owner of the democratic party and avowed Nazi collaborator, is still a part of the group that is bidding.  Why aren't the media and the NFL making a big deal over his inclusion?

Just three questions Scrap.  Please prove that George Soros owns the Democratic Party, also prove that he is an "avowed" Nazi collaborator and finally prove that Soros is among a group bidding on the Rams.

Thank you.

This is a particularly disgusting smear. Soros was a kid when the Nazis invaded Hungary and had to hide his Jewish ancestry to avoid being sent to a concentration camp.

Soros was a teenager when he participated in taking property away (read as looting) from fellow Jews (except he is now an atheist) while hiding out with his protector.  He has admitted it and he has no remorse.  His excuse is that if it were not him it would have been someone else.  Plenty of teenagers fought against the Nazis, so age should not be an excuse.

Soros owns the party through his influence and financial contributions to organizations the work for the democratic party.  His millions have funded groups such as America Coming Together, Center for American Progress, Democracy Alliance, Acorn, MoveOn, Media Matters and many, many more.  Obama owes his political career to Soros.   His stated goal is in his book The Age of Fallibility. Soros writes, “The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States” He announced in 2003 that it is necessary to “puncture the bubble of American supremacy.”  Soros is working systematically to achieve that goal and is doing so through the above named groups.  He has set up his 'Shadow Party' and is in effect staging a coup like he has many times before in Eastern Europe.   Soros also told “The Australian” that the world financial crisis was”stimulating” and “in a way, the culmination of my life’s work.”  I'm sure the folks at the Bank of England realize how evil and manipulative this guy is after he broke them by shorting the British Pound.  Soros is an evil man.

It has been reported that Soros was part of the consortium to buy the Rams.

This is what I hate about today's polarized rhetoric. I don't care if you hate Soros or his politics, but there was a time that accusing a Jew of Nazi sympathizing because he lived in occupied Hungary when he was 13 years old would be beyond the pale. Nowadays no smear is too heinous to lob at someone as long as you hate that person's politics.

For the record, Soros's father spent time in a Russian gulag in the years following WWI. After years of seeing first hand what it's like in a totalitarian labor camp, it's no surprise he took steps to protect his family by hiding their heritage. But hey, who cares about that right? Soros didn't "fight against the Nazis", whatever that's supposed to mean. Let's all just sit back and make shameless accusations about how 13 year old civilians should act when they're in a war zone and afraid for their lives.

Soros is definitely evil (this is from Wikipedia):

Soros is chairman of Soros Fund Management and the Open Society Institute and is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is also one of three initial funders of Center for American Progress, and is represented on the board.[3] His funding and organization of Georgia's Rose Revolution was considered by Russian and Western observers to have been crucial to its success, although Soros said his role has been greatly exaggerated. In the United States, he is known for having donated large sums of money in an effort to defeat President George W. Bush's bid for re-election in 2004.

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker wrote in 2003 in the foreword of Soros' book The Alchemy of Finance:

George Soros has made his mark as an enormously successful speculator, wise enough to largely withdraw when still way ahead of the game. The bulk of his enormous winnings is now devoted to encouraging transitional and emerging nations to become 'open societies,' open not only in the sense of freedom of commerce but—more important—tolerant of new ideas and different modes of thinking and behavior.

Soros was thirteen years old in March 1944 when Nazi Germany took military control over Hungary.[11] For two days, Soros worked for the Jewish Council,[4] which had been established during the Nazi occupation of Hungary to forcibly carry out Nazi and Hungarian government anti-Jewish measures. Soros later described this time to writer Michael Lewis:

The Jewish Council asked the little kids to hand out the deportation notices. I was told to go to the Jewish Council. And there I was given these small slips of paper...It said report to the rabbi seminary at 9 a.m....And I was given this list of names. I took this piece of paper to my father. He instantly recognized it. This was a list of Hungarian Jewish lawyers. He said, "You deliver the slips of paper and tell the people that if they report they will be deported.[12]

To avoid his son's being apprehended by the Nazis, Soros's father paid a Ministry of Agriculture employee to have Soros spend the summer of 1944 living with him and posing as the godson. Young Soros had to hide his Jewishness even as the official was overseeing the confiscation of Jewish property.[13]

In the following year, Soros survived the battle of Budapest in which Soviet and German forces fought house-to-house through the city. Soros first traded currencies and jewelry during the Hungarian hyperinflation of 1945–1946.

Soros emigrated to England in 1947 and graduated from the London School of Economics in 1952. While a student of the philosopher Karl Popper, Soros worked as a railway porter and as a waiter. A university tutor requested aid for Soros, and he received 40 pounds from a Quaker charity.[14] He eventually secured an entry-level position with London merchant bank Singer & Friedlander

Oh how terrible it is that Soros contributes in a big, big way to liberal causes.  Not just Democratic causes.  On the other hand it is just so right for Ruppert Murdock to own or try to corner the market on the news business and he is not even an American citizen, he's Australian.  Of course Murdock does nothing to promote the Right Wing Republican agenda any more than he does the Left Wing Liberal agenda.  His Fox News Network is definitely well balanced.  Yep, well balanced as far as the Right Wing Nut jobs tell  him to be. Balanced in their favor.

So Mr Scrapiron I would suggest that you not throw stones when you live in a glass house.

As for Mr. Limbaugh, the druggy, he caused his own problems with his runaway mouth.  There is an exact record of what he says.  But then Rush is allowed to deny he said any of it and when he is called on it he goes running around saying "Mommy, the Liberals and Obama's friends are picking on me and I did nothing to deserve it."

Come on Scrapiron you are at least a little bit smarter than the average cat or dog.
