I think which ever team( Dodgers, Oakland, KC ) loses in the Furcal sweepstakes, they will approach the Bucs about Jack Wilson. If the Dodgers cannot sign Furcal, I think the Wilson to Dodgers rumors will rekindle, and whenever there is smoke there will be fire.

I do not think the Dodgers are a player now that they have signed Blake and Loretta. They have needs at 2nd and short, and they have Hu, Dewitt, and Loretta to fill them.  Granted Loretta and Dewitt are basically only suited to play 2nd.

If they are players in this, it will be only at their terms and the Pirates will most definitely eat a large chunk of the salary.

As far as the A's - don't they still have Crosby?  is he that much different than Wilson?

not sure there is going to be much of a market left for JW..

America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again.

Who is going to play short for the Padres since Green is gone?

This entire scenario does show that Jack is not as valuable on the open market.

He is a stop gap for most other teams.  But he is certainly better than Iztursis.  The Cards got a good year out of him and he was still a negative on offense.  The Orioles are bad, he is going to be a zero at short for them.

I could see the Blue Jays being interested in Jack, he would be an upgrade for them but the Bucs would have to pay all his salary to get a prospect back (which is not a bad plan - just as long as the return is a good prospect - consider jack's contract a signing big signing bonus)

Blake and Loretta have no bearing on the SS position.  The Dodgers are in the same boat as they were before signing 3B Blake and backup 2B/3B Loretta.  They have Hu at SS.

I think this also proves that he might be worth more at the trading deadline.  I still think teams attend to over pay for players at the deadline and Wilson could sure up a need at SS down the stretch for a team.  I would hold onto him if the deal isn't fair enough instead of just getting rid of him.
