Now that spot is filled, who else could want Derek Lee?  I'm really hoping he signs so the Bucs can get a draft pick.

I really thought Kotchman would get a bigger contract, he is not going to get much more than Magahee unless he meets his incentives.

Laporta is a guy I go back and forth on.  I don't think RH power plays real well at PNC, and he has been underwhelming for three straight years. On the other hand he would be a guy who could figure it all out and pull an "Alex Gordon" at some point and turn into a core piece.  I would prefer to aim higher, but Laporta would certainly be interesting.

If Lee really wanted to play for a winner, he would be a natural fit in Milwaukee.  The problem is he wants to be payed like it's 2007-08 when the reality is no club other than the Pirates probably value him at more than $5 million a season and I think his ego forces him into an early retirement.
