And also enjoys bar fights apparently.  The Tribune Review reports that Sanchez broke his jaw for a second time during Florida Instructional League.  This time it was a bar patron's fist that hit him in the face instead of a baseball.  Yikes...

That's a darn shame.  We really need Sanchez to bounce back.  At the same time, he also needs to man up and stay outta trouble and focus on making it to the show before it becomes worse for him with that eventual "first-round bust" scarlet letter attached to him.

Remember when his character was seen as a plus after the Pirates reached?

Who knows the reason he was punched, doesn't sound like charges were filed. For all we know he was coming to the defense of somebody.  No guarantee it is a character issue.

On the other side. I've broken my jaw. That sucks for him.

I still look for a bounce back year.  I see a catcher who can give us a .275 avg with 15 HRs and steady D.

Kind of funny.  The article said it happened three months ago and he was fine three weeks ago.  This shoudl not hold him back on the field.  We also have no idea how the fight happened and if he was even really involved.

He gets thrown at a good bit, can't control his twitter, and gets in bar fights.

All coincidental I'm sure.

I don't think it's out of the question that maybe he was thrown at for a reason.

first I have heard that he is "thrown at" any more than anyone else.  The twitter thing was way overblown, and I think the Pirates overreacted, and I bet half this board has been in a bar fight.

Sounds like a poll opportunity.

What are some of his Twitter feeds?

I don't remember too many, he was always cool to me, but he went after umpires on twitter, accusing them of blowing calls just to get out of the game, he also wasn't always the most gentlemanly to the ladies if I remember correctly.

This can't be a good thing for his development - the last broken jaw set him back a year.  It's conjecture, of course, but I have to think this severely hurts his chances to be our 'catcher of the future'.

Supposedly, according to the article, he looked perfectly fine at mini-camp and should be ready to go for spring training.  I'm not too worried about it, although you do have to wonder if it affected his off-season training.

A few weeks ago it was reported that he had added about 15lbs, I imagine most of it was muscle since there was no mention of him being out of shape.

Without knowing the full story, it does not seem like this should affect him on the field.
