ESPN.com’s Buster Olney tweets. Roy Oswalt is said to be asking for $8MM.
Let's give him 9 and tell him we'll deal him at the deadline to contender.

The price is going down for the remaining unsigned players and the ball club sit's idle. We have so much to look forward too this coming year!

I know I'm looking forward to the team's 100th loss, in 2012.

They are waiting until after the arbitration decisions to see how much they have to work with.

Resop just settled for $850,000, avoiding his arb hearing. 6 to go.

For 8 million, I would rather see them sign Pena. And I would almost rather have Saunders than Oswalt.

"More" significant signings? I'm not sure any of his signings have been significant. Maybe Bedard if he stays healthy and pitches like he did several years ago. And even if he does, he'll probably be traded at mid-season. Barmes isn't likely to be much of an improvement over Cedeno and Barajas is a place holder for a year if he can stay healthy that long. NH's efforts have always been heavily geared toward the minors. He does very little to improve the major league team.

I listened to Klaw's podcast today and he assumes Oswalt's medical records look bad. He says that is the only conceivable reason he's still available.
