Former 12th pick overall in 2006.  I think he was cut last month by the Rangers.  I wonder if the Pirates have any interest in him and his potential?

He has gone through some mechanic changes (four different coaches in the last four years) but I am sure his fastball can still get up to the mid 90's.

Seesm like a guy Huntington would like.  He is 24 years old now.

Last I heard he had absolutely no control of an 84-88 MPH fastball.  He lost velocity and control and profiles as a 4A kind of guy.
I'm much more excited about Aaron Poreda, who has lost the strike zone but when I saw him last year was still throwing 91-94 MPH.  I think he could be a very "under the radar" signing that works out if he can somehow find the zone again.  I wonder if the Pirates will use him strictly in relief or if they will give him a shot in  AAA rotation.

I just think coaching has messed him really bad.  Having a new coach every year change your mechanics is a not a good thing.
