Die hard Pirate fans in the Pittsburgh area might want to tune in ROOT SPORTS for 2011 classic wins by our Buccos. Tonight the tv replay of walk off home run by Tabata agaisnt the Phillies..
It wasn't a walk-off homer. Just a single. It was a pretty exciting 2-1 win, in 12 innings, though.
I've watched both "Pirates Classics" so far (the first, last Monday, was the 3-run homer by the Fort, that helped beat the Cubs, 7-4). And I still get excited - even though I've already watched the games last summer, and know the outcome.
When D-Mac walked Ruiz to lead-off the top of the 10th inning, I started cursing. Which broke my fiance up. She said, "Now, you know full well he doesn't score. What are getting upset about?" And I said, yeah, he doesn't score, but it's still bad baseball to walk the leadoff guy, like that!"
