I really like Carlos Correa. Seems to be in the same vein as Miguel Sano and Manny Machado. His batting approach seems silimar to Miguel Cabrera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhmQF6thb3MBut I like Nick Williams and Trey Williams a LOT more. They will be bonifide MLB stars. The way I see it though I see a better chance Correa is willing to sign a $3 million signing bonus (the max we can offer without the severe tax) compared to the Williamses who may hold out for larger bonuses. But it may be worth giving up a 1st round draft pick or two for Nick Williams if he somehow falls down to 8th but I doubt he makes it past the Top 5. He will probably be the top positional player taken. Trey Williams has a better chance of coming to us. Not comfortable with the top pitchers out there (mcCullers, Appel, Gausmann, Fried)

As long as you are not pimping your blog like Sunfun/Jake did, I have no problem with you linking articles, especially ones about the draft. If you start posting your in game breakdowns everday... Good read...I would like Correa as well.

Pimping blogs is fine with me. Pimping delusional conspiracies and bogus insider info, like Jake did, is not fine. Pimping your blog under another name and pretending it's not you, like Jake also did, is not fine. I'm all in favor of getting more views from folks who are not, y'know, sociopaths.
So pimp away!

There's nothing in the rules that prohibits you from linking to another site, and that would include one's own blog, as long as the site is family and work safe and you don't starting doing it in every thread.

Yea that. This will be an interesting draft with the new rules. I am wondering if HS players fall.

What are the new rules?
What pick do the Pirates have?
The Pirates currently have the 8th and 43rd pick before their second round pick at 62nd. They stand to add another supplemental pick (which right now would be the 53rd pick) if Derrek Lee signs with another team. The rule changes are about as close as you can get to hard slotting. Basically, each pick in the first 10 rounds is given a monetary " slot value." All the value a team has in their draft picks are added together and that final number is the cap a team can spend. They are able to go over, but induce harsh penalties including the loss of 1st round draft picks. In addition, if a team fails to sign a player, they lose that "slot value" from their "pool". Lastly, a team cannot sign a player for more than 100K in rounds 11+. If they do, the amount in excess of 100K will count against the teams "pool." There are several other rules changes, including significant rule changes to compensation picks from free agents. Read more here. http://www.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20111122&content_id=26025138&vkey=pr_mlb&c_id=mlb

We get an earlier pick for Doumit than for Lee? I guess that's a positional thing.

Geesh Dog, where you been? Did the dog catcher pick you up and confine you to the pound for the last couple months? Had to say that buddy, you did deserve it for your ignorance of the Buccos #8 pick and for not seeing the several posts here and in other great Bucco and MLB related blogs and news sites. Have a Happy New Year!

I was under the impression that picks are ordered based upon the order in which the player signs. Hence we already have a pick for Doumit and don't even have one for Lee yet. Here. http://riveraveblues.com/resources/2012-draft-order/

Okay well I'm glad I'm not breaking anyway rules.. Since this is my pimping thread anyway, I figure I'd add just a bit. I'm doing a top 20 countdown over on my blog, and I do a new prospect every other day or so. I don't want to flood onlybucs.net every time I finish a guy so here is my spiel for the entire list. Please check back regularly to read the profiles if you like them. I just finished my #13 prospect Alex Dickerson. http://buriedtreasurepirates.blogspot.com/2011/12/13-prospect-alex-dickerson.htmlWhen I finish all 20 I'll post over here, but I don't want to be too obnoxious. Hope y'all enjoy and thanks for the views I have already!

Scuttlebutt has it that the Buccos would not spring for Primanti's sandwiches in the clubhouse for Albert. That seemed to be the deal breaker for the Buccos. Yes, Nutting is really cheap!
